Put your advocacy skills to the test at The Grand Moot, a competitive mooting event hosted in collaboration between BCU Law & Debating Society and ELSA Birmingham at the University of Birmingham.

Taking place on 27 November 2026, the competition will give participants the opportunity to apply their legal knowledge in a realistic moot court setting, presenting structured legal submissions before a panel of judges and responding to questions under pressure.

Competitors will be assessed on the quality of their legal reasoning, preparation, advocacy, presentation and ability to engage with judicial questioning. The Grand Moot is designed to challenge participants beyond written legal analysis, requiring them to think critically, argue persuasively and advocate with confidence.

Following the Mooting Masterclass on 18 November, this competition provides the opportunity to put those skills into practice and compete for the title of The Grand Moot Champion.

Stay tuned to discover the panel of renowned Judges awaiting you in the courtroom!
